For those of you who have never traveled along the Libi Tigray road, or not familiar with what the name signifies, I invite you to read the following comments made by the terrorist junta agame Sarcasm/eden to see why my Eritrean forefathers named the winding road in Eritrea Libi Tigray. Keep in mind that, a terrorist junta that is now crying "Tigray Genocide" made the comments below.

A lot of Eritreans in the diaspora are not fully engaging with the justice seekers ደለይቲ ፍትሒ because they believe they need to stick with Isayas & Co until the borders with Ethiopia are demarcated. They believe our existence and independence are at stake. They are scared that if the government loses this confrontation with Ethiopia, we will be back to where we were. Therefore, until the borders are demarcated, the only option we have as a people is to stick with Isayas & Co. regardless how badly they are treating the Eritrean people back home. ምእንቲ መጎጎ፤ ትሕለፍ ኣንጭዋ ። They believe this out of their desire to see a better future for the country.
Such type of support is noble and valuable in times of emergency. It has helped the country during the war in the late 1990s and early 2000. But when the war ended, and both governments agreed to resolve the border issue in a peaceful manner and stared working towards it, such blanket support has to end; the government has to go back to doing its job (governing the people) properly and it should be judged accordingly.
But the situation is not an either-or situation. We don't have to either accept government brutality or lose our independence. If Isayas goes tomorrow we are not going to go back to being a colony again the day after tomorrow. Dozens of onetime-freedom-fighter-next-time-brutal-dictators have left their offices, but none of these countries went back to being a colony again. Attaining independence is like losing your virginity. Once you cross the road, you don't go back to being a colony again. How many African countries went back to being colonies? Good governance and defending the country are not mutually exclusive. People really need to clear their heads from the fallacy that Isayas & Co cannot be less brutal otherwise the weyane and the Americans are going to colonize us. Isayas & Co.'s government could govern twice as much better than how they are ruling the people and still maintain the country's independence. Eritreans who live in Eritrea want Isayas & Co. to be less brutal. And the diaspora are telling Eritreans ከኣልዎ ደኣ። And the Eritrean people are saying ኣታ ግደፉ` ባ: ተግዱዑና ኣለኹም ።
Isayas & Co., just like the diaspora, believe that the Eritrean people do not have any other options. Blunder after blunder, injustice after injustice, brutality after brutality, they believes that nothing is going to happen to their government. The diaspora have given Isayas a blank check in 1997 and instead of placing conditions of their support later on, they gave him the whole check book. The diaspora should have said we will support you but we expect you operate in this way.
We need to ask:” Is sticking with Isayas going to help us to get the borders demarcated?” The weyane have refused to demarcate while Isayas in ruling Eritrea. Their position is obviously unfair as it is not their business to say who should rule Eritrea. But dwelling on us being victims is not going to help us find solutions. It is better to think on how we could get out of this quagmire. The weyane have also made it clear they will not cooperate with Eritrea while Isayas is in power. Forget the 5 points gimmick. Demarcation requires willingness and active participation of both governments. Therefore, if the weyanes have made it clear that they will not work with Eritrea while Isayas & Co are in power, sticking with Isayas & Co is not going to help to get the border demarcated.
Obviously, who rules Eritrea is not their business. But the bottom point is they will not work with Eritrea while Issias is in power. Eritrea does not have any stick or carrot to force the weyanes change their mind. Assab used to be the carrot that could get them to change their minds. But thanks to Isayas & Co. and Djibouti, Ethiopians does not need Assab anymore. Somalia, ONLF, OLF, Demhit and other Ethiopian opposition forces were brought to be used as a stick. But they have proved useless to affect Ethiopian policy. Therefore we do not have any mechanism to get what we want apart from waiting and hoping something would happen to weyane. Is Isayas worth having the border not getting demarcated?
A lot of Eritreans who are supporting Isayas & Co disapprove of the majority of their policies and their savage actions. They claim they are only siding with Isayas & Co until the border gets demarcated as that has greater importance to the long term security of the country. But the weyanes have made it crystal clear that they will not work with Eritrea on the demarcation issue while Isayas & Co is in power. Eritreans who are helping to extend Isayas & Co's days in power are yet to realize that the premises of their support are false because the longer Isayas & Co stays in power, the longer the borders remain undemarcated! They are naively working against their primary objective of making sure the borders are demarcated.
By supporting Isayas & Co, they are actually helping in deferring the demarcation of the border indefinitely. Twelve or 13 years have passed since the cessation of hostilities agreements was signed. Are we any closer to demarcation date? No. Lets assume Isayas & Co remain in power for the next 13 year; what are the chances of getting the border getting demarcated? Nil. Both sides have toactively participate in the process for the borders to get demarcated. One party cannot demarcate the borders on its own. (Correct me if I am wrong here). Therefore, if Eritrean diaspora want the border to get demarcated the have to dump Isayas & Co.
