Harari region wins case against Election board after appealing to the Federal Supreme Court
Hararis who live outside Harar can now vote for Harari National Assembly members. This makes hararis the only voters with such privilege. Election board was against this practice calling it illegal and unfair practice but the Supreme Court now upheld the old privilege based on some old decision made by the parliament during the transitional government in 1995. Election Board argued that the decision needed to be made by the House of Federation (HoF) i.e. "the constitutional court" and not by the Court. However, the Court ruled in favor of the Harari National Assembly.
