The Ministry of Peace established to prevent and resolve conflicts, to bring equitable development among the regions and to create stable nation.

The Ministry of Federal Affairs first established under the proclamation No. 256/2001 that defined the powers and duties of the reorganized executive organs of the FDRE; and it was first organized into two main sectors called regional Affairs and Urban Development sectors. The Ministry was again reorganized under the proclamation No.471/2005 whereby the urban Development was excluded and other powers and duties were given instead. In order to provide assistance, to the support deserving regions the Federal Board have been established in which various Ministries are evolved to deliver overall support to the regions. In 2009 by proclamation No. 641/2009 the Ministry has been given additional power and duties of handling the religions and faith affairs in order to maintain sustainable peace and security by ensuring tolerance and understanding among different religions targeting the overall development of the country.

Furthermore, by the proclamation No 691/2010 the Ministry is again given power to ensure the proper execution at the federal level of functions relating to the registration of charities and societies and possession or use of arms, fire arms and explosives.

The Ministry is mainly tuned to the Growth and Transformation Plan of the country. Hence the core processes ought to bring equitable development in the less developed regions, to prevent and resolve conflicts, to strengthen Federal system, to uphold Federal Regional relations in the country, and to maintain good relations, peace and tolerance among different religions and beliefs.

Ethiopia has got many many enemies, who don't sleep, at the same time we have also many many ignorants among us, who cares nothing for the common good of the country, like those who were rushing to reclaim territory before the blood of our soldiers, which was spilled on the battle field to defend the country, even started to dry. They moved on the fresh blood of our sons and daughters to rush to reclaim their "lost territory".

Such ignorants are not limitted to just one or the other part of the country, unfortunately.

I am sure you must be talking about OLF which is claiming Addis Ababa, Wello and Shewa and Gojjam? I am sure with the speed OLA is beating the ENDF and Amhara militia in their own Region, it won't be too long before we see the kind or the worst form of TPLF's government under the newly coming Oromo hegemony. Don't try to cover the intentions or deflect and blame those who are only trying to live in their own land.

I asked the rhetorical question 'የሰላም ሚኒስቴር ምንድን ነው?' because this is the most undefined of entities. I think Aniy thought about it when he was high on the Nobel Peace prize. The ministry of Peace is largely a symbolic institution with a fuzzy public relations mission.

Consider these fundamentals:
The fundamental sources and causes of wars, violence and conflicts in Ethiopia are ethnic politics, ethnocracy, ethnic federalism, ethnic killils, ethnic borders, ethnic parties, ethnic armies, ethnic militias, and ethnic political economy.

Abiy & co. rather than directly facing and attempting to solve these huge and critical abnormalities, they are playing with imagery and PR tricks. Yes, blue is the color of serenity and tranquility. But issuing blue uniforms and blue logos for a system that sustains itself on ethnic hate and ethnic violence is simply burying one's head in sand refusing to see the true reality.

Let us stop the drama for good and talk about ways and means of dismantling tribal armies, the rule of ethnic warlords, fake ethnic homelands and the ever dysfunctional federation of tribes.

The very slogan ministry of peace betrays the absence peace, the vacuous nature the concept and total fuzziness of its mission.
