I guess this is what Noah felt like when he started building the Ark only to be dismissed as a loon until he was proven right by a monsoon. This is what Lot must have felt like when he ran through the streets of Sodom and Gomorrah trying to convince his family, friends and anyone who would listen to leave the condemned cities only to be met with a wall of diffidence. The few who decide to stand up against despotism are always maligned by society; we are treated like pariahs for seeing the danger ahead and making the fateful decision to resist fascism. Such is the case for anyone who chooses to confront the cult of Covid-19.
It’s a lonely place occupying the high tower and using our voices to challenge the ruling class instead of echoing their lies. Every generation sees it fit to crucify people who commit the cardinal sin of saying that one plus one does not equal five; speaking truth to power has led many to their early demise. Those who cast their lot with authority are rewarded handsomely while those of us who insist on asking questions are strung up by our necks. The brute force that was doled out to heretics like Yeshua, Galileo and Malcolm X has morphed into a soft-cudgel that is used to bash anyone who dares to step out of line.
