Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and the Ethiopian government persistently allege the war on Tigray was triggered when the government of the Tigray region launched a surprise attack on a federal military base. However, the chronology of events leading up to war shows clear intent on the part of Prime Minister Abiy and his collaborators to attack Tigray well before its flashpoint.

The ramp up to war began almost as soon as the prime minister assumed the premiership. A disagreement between the federal and Tigray region governments over elections would provide a pretext for an attack. And in the latter half of 2020, the federal government and its allies put into motion the final phases of an operation to strike the Tigray region. The operation was thwarted when Tigray region defense forces suddenly commandeered the Northern Command of the federal military. Almost as soon as the plot was upended, Prime Minister Abiy attempted to salvage the operation by waging total war on Tigray.

Temesgen Tiruneh the, then President of Amhara state, publically declared a war on Tigray about two to three months prior to the start of the war:

He said the following in two occasions:

(1)We are ready and we will burn them( the TPLF). We have prepared ourselves secretly.

(2) We are going to conquer Welkait and Humera! It is ours and no one will stop us!

The so called peace deal between Abiy and Isaias was a conspiracy to eliminate TPLF. Amhara also allied with Abiy to revenge against TPLF and to take Tigray land.
General Seare was killed by Eritrea spearheaded plot by Amhara security man as part of the war preparation plan.
The war to eliminate TPLF was planned and excuted by Isaias Afworki and he used Abiy and the Amhara to that effect.
The war against TPLF and the Tigray people is part and parcel of Egypt's strategy of weakening Ethiopia using Isaias Afworki and Ethiopians sold out for the Egypt agenda(looking to where Ethiopia is at this time Egypt has achieved it's plan 100%) so that Ethiopia will not have an option but to sign a zero sum water share agreement with weak and unstable Ethiopia.
It is most likely that Abiy's recent declaration about his project of extracting rainfall from cloud( which is an old technology but costly and unpractical project for Ethiopia ) to prepare Ethiopians to give in to Egypt demand by claiming we have another option of getting water!
