In my experience, Eritreans are very proud of their hard-won struggle for independence, and May 24 is one of the most celebrated and highly respected of the country’s national holidays. Why is the Embassy kissing asz? 30 years of tyrannical rule is nothing to celebrate about. Is this what the gallant people paid so much for? For their children as young as 16 to be dragged into wars in neighboring countries a perish by the thousands? Heck, even they are being imbedded into the Ethiopian army to continue to die in Ethiopian military uniform.
