Addis Ababans, all Ethiopians to that matter, were told a lot of lies about 6 months ago and hence betrayed the Tigrayan people. Now, the truth of what the Ethiopian government is doing in Tigray is out for everyone to see. Therefore, I think, they should use this opportunity to side the Tigray people.Sam Ebalalehu wrote: ↑30 Mar 2021, 21:16Here is the problem with their plan, Eden : to get the support of “other Ethiopians” they have to acknowledge the current crises was created by TPLF. Do they have the integrity to face fact as is ? I do not think they do. Well, in that case the “ other Ethiopians” support might not be in the horizon.
As for having demonstration in Addis, that is a no, no. The Addis residents are not cut for your ethnic nonsense drama.
I read somewhere Eden , you wrote Addis was the city who made me who you are. That is the worst , I think, lie you have ever told. Addis do not produce ethnic cadres. Addis has been the birth place of idealists who found an enemy in imperialism, feudalism, not with dirt poor Amharas.
Tigreans and "other Ethiopians" have a very different perspective on the war in Tigray and I agree with Sam Ebalalehu that without acknowledging the fact that the war was started by TPLF and without condemning the shameful attack on ENDF, I don't think "other Ethiopians" will be willing to join any demonstration in Ethiopia. Ethiopians see any demonstration as supporting the attack on our military and betraying ENDF. This is not gonna happen.sarcasm wrote: ↑31 Mar 2021, 09:54Addis Ababans, all Ethiopians to that matter, were told a lot of lies about 6 months ago and hence betrayed the Tigrayan people. Identity / ethnic politics is one angle of doing politics, but it is not everything. There are a lot of other angles such as ideological, worldview, economic issues, income group etc to understand politics. You seem to be stack on "other ethnic identity vs psudo Ethiopianist ( Amhara) politics".
BTW, I didn't say Addis Ababa has such effect on me. But you chose to believe that sarcasm is Eden.
I think you need to update you "facts" on the start of the war.temari wrote: ↑31 Mar 2021, 10:22Tigreans and "other Ethiopians" have a very different perspective on the war in Tigray and I agree with Sam Ebalalehu that without acknowledging the fact that the war was started by TPLF and without condemning the shameful attack on ENDF, I don't think "other Ethiopians" will be willing to join any demonstration in Ethiopia. Tigrean activists must face reality and condemn the shameful attack on our military. Until this happens, no Ethiopian will betray the Army. First we all have to condemn the attack on the army then and only then will we all be free to stand against any human rights violations in Tigray. Tigreans must understand the seriousness of the attack on ENDF and stop acting as if nothing happened. ENDF is Ethiopia and if you attack our country and massacre our soldiers and don't have the gut to say sorry then don't expect other Ethiopians to stand with you. Tigrean activists are making it very hard for ordinary Ethiopians to side with Tigray. Condemn the shameful attack on ENDF and condemn the maikadra massacre then expect others to do the same.
