Don’t let his nerdy look and awkward disposition fool you, the information superhighway is littered with countless number of people who underestimated Bill Gates only to be run over like helpless squirrels. Unlike Steve Jobs, who used innovation and product superiority to dominate the laptop and cell phone markets, Gates unleashed predatory practices, ruthless coercion and malicious price fixing schemes to monopolize the Operating System industry. A man who dropped out of college and was dismissed as a nobody by many is now arguably the most powerful person in the world.

In order to understand Gates, one has to inspect his childhood to realize how his formative years informed him as a businessman. Born in Seattle, Washington in 1955 to a father who was a prominent lawyer and a mother who served on the board of directors for First Interstate BancSytems and the United Way, Gates was schooled in the art of sadistic capitalism at a very early age. A tiny and fragile child, Gates was frequently bullied by other kids only to find tough love instead of consolation when made it home from school.
