Artificial Rain, What Is It?

This is first and foremost not a cure of our chronic pain point, which is scarcity and unpredictability of rainfall, that has costed us much heavily for generations so far. According to some reports I came across in the internet the science of cloud seeding is not new and the science itself is not yet conclusively settled scientific discussion point.

The science has been around for relatively long time already but we have been also suffering from cyclic droughts up until now, even in the well developed nations like the USA, the Californian mega droughts of last few years comes to my mind here.

It is also not clear if this solution is sustainable or a sort of about setting priorities (taking from one place or time and putting it to where or when it is more urgent and dire, spatial and/or temporal diversion).

What is also not clear to me is that in how much this endeavor is related to or powered by the technology of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

AI is, as I understand it, a sort of advanced data processing (perhaps "massive data processing" is more accurate in this case) technology, this is in fact the last stage of current state of the art science of electronically data processing. It is based on the stage of digital transformation of data processing step, the latter itself is based on business process automation step of the same science.

To put it in a short term, if a country or an entity wants to make effective use of the science of AI, then the first and the prerequisite stage is reaching at digital transformation (data is accessible from anywhere to everywhere in the required form, which is not unchallenging in terms of the constraints in this regard).

I will be glad if those with a more in depth knowledge of the field could shed more light on the subject matter here and clear some of my doubts.

Cloud seeding is a type of weather modification that aims to change the amount or type of precipitation that falls from clouds by dispersing substances into the air that serve as cloud condensation or ice nuclei, which alter the microphysical processes within the cloud. Its effectiveness is debated; some studies have suggested that it is "difficult to show clearly that cloud seeding has a very large effect".[2] The usual objective is to increase precipitation (rain or snow), either for its own sake or to prevent precipitation from occurring in days afterward.
