The gold deposite is called Teff (the golden crop), an endemic cereal of very high nutritional value, dubbed already as superfood, sought after by many super stars of the world, among others.

Until now the country couldn't realize the full or near full potential of this resource because, among other reasons, it is a labour intensive production, so the production of this high value cereal was limitted, so that export of this crop was limitted or banned altogether.

Now this country is poised to mechanize the production of Teff and with that it is also overcoming the hurdle of supplying the product to the external market and generate the much needed foreign currency for the country.

This is one of the biggest news that are destined to move this country a leap forward.

Teff is in demand because it has various health benefits and unique nutritional contents. It’s high in fibre and rich in iron, calcium, magnesium, protein, and amino acids. But what’s really contributed to its enormous popularity, particularly in Europe and the US, is that it’s gluten free. This means that it appeals to athletes, diabetics, coeliacs and others who seek a gluten-free diet.


Teff, the Ethiopian superfood that used to be banned

Here is the news from the horse's mouth that the production of Teff will be mechanised very soon or already started.

Mind you, Teff is more than Gold: if you ask why, here is the answer which is simple. You don't allocate your budget to buy gold every year, but you will buy Teff not only every year, but also every week, you will like to eat superfood every day.

The country is on a right path, I am hopeful.

The country used to buy wheat from Canada and then subsidized it and sold to the farmers, making them dependent on the government handout.

Now those people, who were dependent on the government aid, are supplying wheat to the country's national market and fulfilling the demand on the national level.

Oromo started to administer its affairs on its own and already making a miracle, this not an exaguration.

A farmer earning upto 300 K Birr or so per year from just Avocado production and if that is added to the other income from the other productions and trade activities, Ethiopian farmers can earn over a million Birr a year, which is not small amount. It is about 30 or so thousands $ a year.

Many young Ethiopians trying to migrate to the western countries, risking their own lives, will not make much more than this, there are many who could make much less than that.

Ethiopia can be a country where its people can have a hope in the future in their own country.

The migration direction will be reversed very soon, must have already started.
