The reason is the Amhara and Eritrea border of Humera links major economically productive geographic areas as well as covers largest part of the country. This route is almost a major spinal cord to the systems of the two economies. The old road Asmara to Addis Ababa via Mekelle is economically very optional. When peace restored it can serve as a third option, next to the road from Assab port to Addis Ababa.

In order to make the highway Asmera - Humera -Gondar- Bahir Dar and other hinterlands the borders have to be fortified and make sure rebel thugs are wiped out. Any rebel caught causing damage has to be used as demonstration by delivering maximum sentence in public square such as in open weekly markets. That is going to serve as a scare crow for the TPLF thugs.

The Moron Ethiowusha! Who on earth blocks Eritrea? After the entire infrastructure work is completed, the first road that will be opened will be Humera via Omhajer, then the Assab route will be opened. The Tigray route is insignificant & will not be opened forever. I advise you to raise your knowledge before vomiting on this forum.

Institutionalization of the relationship between the two countries is good for long term peace between them.
Opening humera borders will legitimate that land is back to its rightful owners

I was thinking the same about the emirates sudden departure. Connecting Humera to Massawa via Asmara is very intuitive. Humera Welqait area is fertile. Tigray without Welqait and Humera will starve to death immediately. If the Ethiopian government returns the Humera-Welqait area to Amhara kilil, then Tigray will cease to exist for all practical purposes. BTW, any government can sanction another for any reason, and no due process is required. But, the Security Council can not sanction without due process. Any decent lawyer can use any type of inconsistencies as always occur in Tigray via TPLF, international sanctions will not happen. TPLF days playing games are over. Both Ethiopia and Eritrea need to work very hard to bring these inconsistencies to the western powers using valid evidences of inconsistencies.
