A TPLF Policeman released on bail after raping 50 married mothers
10 Oct 2019 - (EP) Residents of Adi Daero in Tigray Zone said they were concerned about a policeman who allegedly raped 50 married mothers was released on 6000 Birr (US$200) bail.
Before his release, the women claimed they were raped by him, giving the details of their encounters with him to the local police.
However, the powerfully connected corrupt policeman is currently walking the streets of the town after he was released on the cheap bail.
Now the town women came out in force to demonstrate against the decision and its corrupt police force (pictured).
One of the policeman's victims said bravely that she was raped at gunpoint despite pleading to the 'lawman' that she is a married mother with children.
Another allegedly raped mother said: “It makes me feel sick. Why wasn’t he behind bars? My marriage broke because of him."
An observer in the town market place said that the policeman at the centre of this controversy was released on US$ 4.00 bail for each woman. This is a case that is sure to dominate the headlines.
