The Irish, Who Suffered a Devastating Famine in the 19th Century, Had Adopted The Agames as Their Pet Project

When the horrific famine struck Tigray in the mid-1980's, everyone in the world was sympathetic. But the Irish, who had suffered their own devastating famine a century earlier, felt more sympathy. Bob Geldof, whose singing career was not going anywhere, found a cause that he could milk and became the face of Western aid to Tigray. The Irish sort of adopted Tigrayans and over the past three decades and half, have been acting their paternalistic role with regards to Tigray. The destruction of the TPLF has become a monumental failure for the Irish. All the money and emotional paternalism they had invested on Tigrayans is gone. They can't anymore have that fuzzy good feeling at Christmas for having saved and nurtured the starving Tigrayans. That is why they are acting churlish these days and doing their best to save their pet project.

I applaud the Abiy government for pulling its ambassador out of Ireland. They should have realized a long time ago that the TPLF is a criminal gang. They are in fact guilty of abetting and aiding the TPLF's heinous crimes.
