Conspiracy of Fear: How Media Was Weaponized to Induce Covid Compliance

Noam Chomsky once noted that any dictator would admire the uniformity and obedience of the U.S. media. But Chomsky was talking about the news industry within the context of wars; I am sure even he is shocked at the level of obsequiousness media professionals have descended into during the past 12 months. In what could only be explained as a coordinated campaign, governments, media empires and the medical industry have colluded to induce compliance from a leery public and silence the voices of people who diverge from acceptable media narratives.
The very foundation of journalism and the reason why the rights of a “free-press” were enshrined in the U.S. Constitution is to ensure a counterweight to the coercive power of governments and business interest who have the ability to shape public opinion with impunity. Sadly, the so-called “fourth-estate” has been co-opted by the very same corporations that commandeered our government a long time ago. The end result is a pliant media that serves as a lapdog of the ruling class instead of being a watchdog for the public at large. The arrival of Covid-19 erased whatever line of demarcation there was left between media and the people they are charged with keeping honest, “news” has now become fully weaponized to engineer societies towards a preferred outcome....continued...
