The present political map of Tigray is distorted on 2 grounds. Meles Zenawi betrayed Tigray and gave away much land to Afar, Eritrea and Amhara. Meles Zenawi used this ploy to buy support. Probably, he thought Ethiopia will be one good country where every ethnic group lives in equality. However, this has turned to be a wrong calculation and assessment of the situation.

The Nile and Lake Sana (Tana) are historically part of the ancient Aksumite Kingdom and automatically should part of Tigray. This is important to keep history of the region. The Amhara are settles from West Africa and live there only as long as they fill their belly. They have no relation to ancient history of Ethiopia or Aksum.

World powers should support Tigray to get the Nile under it's administration. Tigray has proved to be very rational and friendly to Egypt, Israel, Sudan and other countries.
