This is another area of campaign for Tigrayans in EU. They can launch a lawsuit in EU on behalf of Tigrayan employees of EAL who have been racially discriminated and sacked in Ethiopia because of their Tigrayan identity. The MEP is talking about Fifth freedom to operate license and how it is related to corporate social responsibility. EAL's failure in its CSR for discriminating Tigrayans is easy to prove as it was reported by national broadcasters.
The fifth freedom allows an airline to carry revenue traffic between foreign countries as a part of services connecting the airline's own country. It is the right to carry passengers from one's own country to a second country, and from that country onward to a third country (and so on).
