The spokesperson also said that the so called western and southern Tigray, that were forcefully incorporated into Tigray 30 years ago, were never part of Tigray and will never be.

Ethnic federalism mess is unfolding. Ethnic federalism as it is in Ethiopia can never function because it is based on the lose of some and the gain of others. This is a fcked up system and will never bring peace. If PM Abiy now tries to follow the US then that is the end of his support from the Amhara and Amhara PP. Unless this ethnic federalism mess is reviewed and fixed to serve all equally, there will be no satisfactory solution under the current system. The system is broken beyond repair!
