McCaul Responds to Reports of Ethnic Cleansing and Massacres of Civilians in Tigray Region
Press Release 02.27.21

Washington, DC – House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul has released the following statement in response to reports of ethnic cleansing and mass violence in the Tigray region of Ethiopia.

“The horrors detailed in the reports coming out of the Tigray region are incredibly concerning and I am looking into them further. For far too long, the government of Ethiopia and other armed actors have blocked access by journalists and independent monitors to investigate these chilling accounts. I urge the Biden Administration to take decisive action to hold those accountable for any atrocities committed. This must be a high priority as the U.S. takes on the role of UN Security Council Chair next month.”

Do not count on it. First , it is a zero chance of being a priority agenda. That assumption manifests because of not knowing how the US legislative process works. Every year thousands of agendas compete to be out of the committee so that they are presented to the full house. A very tiny fraction of it will make it.
Imagine the lie manufactured by TPLF being addressed by the full house members.
I bet those who are expecting the Almighty showing up have a better chance of meeting him than the full house of congress discussing the “Tigray issue.”
It is easy to manipulate the media that loves sensationalism. Not so the House of Representatives, who have multitude of issues their constituents want to be addressed.

I think he is talking about UN Security Council. He's not talking about US internal legislation.
