Axum Tsion Mariam was celebrated while TPLF claimed on that day it has retaken Axum from the feds. Clearly TPLF was at war in the area. Who died in the battle? War is messy. Both fighters and civilians die. But TPLF has gambled on using religion and religious institutes to be the best alternative to be used as command post, arms depot and military barracks. It calculate these are good places to hide in and as best media attention grabing means in case of consequences. This is against military engagement rules and local customs. War had happened in these areas many times before and they were not violated as TPLF has violated them now.
