When the Boule Becomes a Bullet: Cloaked in Secrecy is a Lethal Society

W.E.B. Dubois once noted that a tenth of the African-American society would lift up the rest who remained mired in poverty and hopelessness. What Dubois never envisioned was a time when the supposed “upper-crust” of the “colored” society, the entitled “boule”, would be cleaved from the bottom 90% and be convinced through the indoctrination of integration to chase wealth at the cost of our collective wellness.
Yet here we are staring into the abyss as the black bourgeois throw their brothers and sisters over the side as they make a bee line for fame and riches. Cain had nothing on Abel, we are witnessing the entitled “negro gentry” sacrifice their own communities at the altar of consumerism and rank capitalism. It is a sad sight to see; it’s like we are revisiting the slave trade where neighbors sell their own neighbors down the river for the sake of money.
Malcolm X identified them a long time ago, he realized the lethality of the boule society, the few who have attained success yet refuse to reach back and lift up others behind them. I was once in this cloaked society; a man of Omega Psi Phi, I too used to pretend that I cared about justice while dabbling in the very orders that impoverish the majority. It says in the bible that man cannot serve God and mammon concurrently; now I understand the wisdom of these words...continued..
