"Out of sheer fear of losing power, EPP started assassinating prominent members of the opposition EZEMA Party. ኢትዮጵያ ትፈርሳለች!"
First let me start by saying RIP for the deceased, every life is precious and shouldn’t be lost by any means outside the will of the God that created it. Taking out life and trying to trade on the lost life are both equally a sin, in my view and in a religious country like Ethiopia.
Second we were told that a “prominent member” of the EZEMA party was assassinated by the operatives of the ruling EPP party. We are still waiting for the explanation on how he (the deceased) assumed the prominence and what his track records are. Someone can’t be a prominent politician without any tangible accomplishment on the ground, if I may guess. Did this party even administer a given Kebele before? Did it have any track record of accomplishing a simple community work as an independent body of the government? In the absence of such accomplishment how then can this party poses any serious challenge to the encumbent?
Just joining an opposition party can’t make someone a prominent politician, isn’t it?
In the absence of a prominence (and based on that a serious challenge to the party in power) why does the party in power take onto itself to assassinate, or even somehow encourage to do so, a member of the opposition and draw public attention to itself, if not for anything, then for the failure of ensuring safety of the citizens. It is clear and the ruling party and other independent observers have said on multiple times that the government can’t protect every single citizen of the country around the hours and at every places in the country. No one can ensure that, for that matter. But every government still tries to deflect such a semblance before the wider public.
If the answers to these questions are not clear by any stretch of an imagination, then using a dead person for a political maneuvering is nothing but simply a Sin, and defying the words of God.
