Back to the topic, yes the sudanese are demonstrating in almost all of their states. I don't blame them while they have one thousand and one reasons. Among others, mind you in order to buy a bread from a bakery you have to stand in a queue perhaps for an hour and that in almost all sudanese cities and towns.

However, as sad as it is...........

Regardless, they have freedom of expression. Had such demonstrations took place in issu's eritrea the demonstrators would have ended up in some of the 360 prisons in eritrea.

A lot of things could happen when people are under stress. Just a couple of weeks ago a policeman shot dead a soldier at a gas station, in Al-Gezira State , after a short argument.

This is happening while Sudan is still trying to carry out its reckless expansion by claiming Ethiopian Sovereign lands. They probably go for all out push to Gondar to possibly divert the public attention to war. Ethiopia is so far following a smart approach letting the teetering on the edge Sudan collapse on its own weight. Menwhile, Alsisi is yawning with boredom and wondering what the Ethiopians are plotting. Come July...it all will be a dramatic show if Sudan can holding it together till then.

Sudan Imposes Curfew in Three States to Contain Protests

February 11, 2021 (Walta) The Sudanese government declared curfew in three states in light of widespread popular protests against hard living conditions and lack of security in some areas.

Governor of North Kordofan declared a state of emergency in his region, with a 12-hour curfew starting at 6 pm, “to preserve the lives of citizens and secure properties,” and closed schools until 14 February, after the escalation of violence and riots, reported the Sudanese newspaper Al-Joumhouria.

The newspaper confirmed that angry demonstrators did not abide by the curfew imposed in three states from 6 pm until 7 am with altercations with security services continuing.

For the past three days, Sudan has been undergoing widespread popular unrest, especially in El-Fashir city, after a conflict erupted between camel breeders and locals, in addition to difficult economic and social conditions that will not be easily rectified by the new government of Abdalla Hamdok due to a severe lack of means and resources.
