Somalia al-Shabab militants attack hotel in Mogadishu, again

Militant Islamists in Somalia have been involved in a gun battle with security forces at a hotel in the capital, Mogadishu.
Al-Shabab said it was behind the attack at the Afrik Hotel, which began with a car bomb on Sunday afternoon.
At least three people died in the attack, with the Reuters news agency reporting nine deaths.
The group, which is linked to al-Qaeda, regularly carries out attacks against the government.
A car hit the hotel's front entrance and detonated before gunmen stormed the building, according to officials and others at the scene. ...

I think they are infiltrated. What they are doing doesn't serve the interest of the Somalis.

They killed this retired Russia trained prominent general, even though he was not any better than this wicked cult (Al-Shabab) and thus not many Somalis, including myself, will shed tears for his death, since instead of behaving like an experienced wise old figure, all he was doing lately was fuelling conflicts between Somalis, playing useless clan cards that most of Somalis (apart from those from the northern enclave who are obsessed with tribalism) are these days tired of.
They said in their communiqué that they had been after him for the past 13 years!
