I have been following TPLF propaganda, to see how it'd develop over the course of this conflict. It went pretty much as expected...
In the beginning TPLF was dominated by the extremists. Therefore, it was all about the "battle hardened" "golden super race" that is capable of smashing any force on Earth. It was all about shooting rockets to display technological superiority and conducting massacres like in mai cadra to show resolve.
But now that they were being defeated in their "cultural game" they quickly resorted to the familiar "divide and conquer" strategy. First the low hanging fruits of: Amhara-vs-Oromo, Amhara-vs-Benishangul, Amhara-vs-Sudan were tried but so far they haven't born real fruit. That is when they turned their attention to Eritrea. ***
During the first few weeks of the conflict, you never heard of "looting Eritreans". They started accusing Eritreans of looting after Mekele was liberated and they did that for very opportunistic reason.
In Mekele,when an ENDF general said foolishily that Eritreans are in Ethiopia and he is not happy about it, it created an opportunity because now there is an opening to instigate between ENDF and Eritrea. The Amharu, who is supposed to be unthinking patriot, is also supposed to go against Eritreans because they are supposedly " looting pans", which is just absurd.
By the way, the "raping eritrean" allegation was not always there, certainly not in the beginning. It was added few weeks after "the looting eritrean" allegations but I suspect this is just for shock effect, for western audience. Notice, in this phase of the propoganda, the TPLF was meticulous about NOT accusing any other forces of looting or rape.
Despite the caution, the TPLF cadres failed to drive wedge between Amharu and Eritrea. That means, there is no reason to accuse Eritreans and carefully avoid the Amharu. That is why now suddenly the Junta is accusing the Amharu of looting. If I am not wrong, we will soon hear about the "raping Amharu" too.
After all, if you can lie once , why not do it twice? or a million times right?

*** The reason they focus on Amhara and Eritrea is because in their mind these two can be easily manipulated against the West vs for example the Oromo, whom TPLF is deathly afraid for the simple reason the Oromo is supposed to enjoy Western support.
