A top TPLF official from Adwa raped 50 women in the town of Shire. It is believed that as many as 200 women and underage girls have been victimized by the official, but only 50 women came forward to report the crimes to the police.
It was only after thousands of women in the town of Shire held massive anti rape protests that the embarrassed TPLF leadership was forced to transfer the rapist to his native town of Adwa as a punishment for his crimes, enabling him to rape more women in Adwa.
