24 Yemeni fishermen released by Eritrea

Debriefer 2021-01-10

HODEIDAH (Debriefer)--The Ansar Allah group, known as the Houthis, on Saturday announced the arrival of 24 Yemeni fishermen in Hodeidah province from Eritrea where they had been held for three months.
They arrived at the area of Al-Khouba, said director of the local fish landing center, Mohammed Hashim, pointing out that the fishermen had been detained in Yemen's territorial waters.

The largest part of the western province of Hodeidah, including Hodeidah seaport, has been under Houthi control since 2014.

A month ago, the Eritrean authorities released 60 Yemeni fishermen without their boats.

There were still 170 Yemeni fishermen held in Eritrea with 35 boats, sources said at the time.
Earlier last year, Eritreans detained tens of Yemeni fishermen off Yemen's Hunaish Island in the Red Sea.

Houthis say 80 Yemeni fishermen arrived after Eritrean custody

2021-01-22

Sana'a (Debriefer) - Eighty Yemeni fishermen have arrived in the western governorate of Hodeida, the Houthi group said Thursday, after four days of detention by Eritrean authorities.

Having arrested from the Red Sea, "37 fishers arrived in Salif district and 43 others in Kibrit island," said head of the Houthi general authority for fisheries, noting that the men were transported on fishing boats.

"Eritrean authorities detained the 80 fishermen last Sunday and looted 4 of their 5 boats while fishing in Yemeni Afar territorial waters," Hashim al-Danie'i added in remarks carried by Sana'a-based Saba.

"The fishers were taken to an Emirati boat in Harmal island to be questioned," he said, accusing the Eritrean authorities and Saudi-led coalition of "piracy and offenses against fishers in Yemeni coasts.

The Houthi official called on international organizations to "put an end to arbitrary practices against Yemeni fishers and preventing them from their livings."

The Houthis repeatedly accuse Eritrea of detaining Yemeni fishermen from Yemeni waters and seizing their boats.

On 9 January, the group said Eritrean authorities released 24 Yemeni fishers after 3 months of custody.

Eritrea is an open base for managing Saudi-led aggression against Yemen

[15/July/2020] by Saba Yemen News Agency.

SANAA, July. 15 (Saba) - As usual in buying everything he can pay for, the aggression coalition of Dar al-Nadwa on Yemen, opened the appetite of the devil Abu Dhabi to practice his favorite game, based on the activation of the strategy of purchasing, renting and managing ports and airports of diverse military and economic importance, and just one month after the start of the storm of sin, Abu Dhabi advanced the ranks of the contestants on the pilgrimage to the Kaaba in the Eritrean Red Sea, to enter the club to listen to what is going on in Bab al-Mandab from its widest doors.

The sudden shift towards the Eritrean Kaaba comes according to the website "Stratford" because: "The UAE began to lose confidence in its Egyptian ally, after Sisi refused to participate in military operations in Yemen, except for a large financial reward," and correct what Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh Mohammed said: "The UAE is using Eritrea because it is able to provide logistical facilities in the war in Yemen."

  • In the oppressive, money-hungry Eritrean regime

In the oppressive, money-hungry Eritrean regime, the UAE found the best way to realize its diabolical dreams, carry out its conspiratorial and subversive designs in Yemen and the region, and the so-called "Arab Alliance" for the War in Yemen, located just 40 kilometers from Eritrea across the Red Sea, was caught on a regime of " Isaias Afwerki" different from the rest of its neighbor's, representing an irreplaceable opportunity for him and his regime to stimulate his preferred trade, especially with the presence of potential oil-fighting oil customers there.

  • Eritrea has become a puppet in the hands of the UAE

Political positions and diplomatic moves over the past years have shown that Eritrea has become a puppet in the hands of the UAE, having opened its territory to establish military bases, prisons and detention facilities run by the Government of Abu Dhabi in the darkness in full, despite the disastrous repercussions that have not been spared from its destructive fragments until Eritrea itself.

  • UAE secret prisons in Eritrea

Human rights organizations and international news agencies, including the Associated Press, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, have revealed in recent years a network of UAE secret prisons in several areas within Eritrea, including the port, Assab airport, Asmara International Airport and the Dahlak Archipelago , including detainees of several nationalities, including Emirati dissidents, mostly Yemenis, who are subject editing the most heinous forms of torture, including sexual harassment.

  • UAE military presence has made Eritrea an arena for regional conflict

In an interview on February 11, 2018, Eritrean academic and political thinker Dr. Hassan Salman said that the UAE military presence has made Eritrea an arena for regional conflict, in a region that has been experiencing for decades proxy wars for geopolitical and civilizational reasons, and that major powers and their regional instruments are competing around them, and today they are more tense and close to the slide towards confrontation, especially after information about the presence of UAE-Egyptian military meetings and gatherings in Eritrea, specifically on the Sudanese border, as well as a military presence in the UAE.

Although al-Qaeda's primary mission in Eritrea relates to Yemen, training, transporting and guarding naval lycées, so that the Eritrean coastal areas are not used against the UAE's presence in Yemen, the fact is that al-Qaeda's presence comes within the framework of the international and regional struggle for influence in this vital region, Abu Dhabi's attempt to expand its sphere of influence, and attacks on targets in Yemen to carry out its own agendas there, which negatively affects the region, in the light of long-standing conflicts that the UAE is investing in for its project.

Abyssinialady the agame hoe, what the fu*ck is Afar waters?
There is no country called Afar. There are Afars in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti and probably in Smalia, just like there are other ethnic groups in all those countries including all Africans.
But since you mentioned Eritrea, the Eritrean Afars are not the ones who are arresting the Eritrean sea violators. It is their country Eritrea which is doing so.
Stop acting stupid. No Eritrean ethnic group could have been free by now if every ethnic group was struggling to free their own and no Eritrean ethnic group would be able to stand by its own as a free entity.
We all Eritreans faught on behalf of our country against Eritrea's enemies to free the whole Eritrean land, sea and air.
But I have a suggestion for you.
If you really are bu*tt hurt on behalf of the Ethiopian Afars why don't you give them to Eritrea, Djiboutti or Somalia in one condition.
Taking their whole territory to the country of their choice that is. For sure Eritrea won't accept them if they are willing to assume Etitrean citizenship if they are too come bu*tt naked.

the Eritrean Afars are not the ones who are arresting the Eritrean Eritrean Afar sea violators. It is their country Eritrea which is doing so
Not Eritrea, It is the Emiratis who are arresting the Yemenis thieves.

The agame eden/AbyssiniaLady thinks that by calling the Eritrea Red Sea "Afar waters" will somehow make us Eritreans angry that we will lose sleep over it. hehehehehehe

Libi Tigray, as evil as it is, it has some comedic elements in it. We Eritreans are no longer interested in returning t!t for tat, for we prefer sending our message across by firing a bullet right in between the junta leaders' eyes. BuYaka-Shaka-Laka!

Fiyameta, please get your oversized head out of your derrière, there has never been a waters called Eritrean sea, In fact, historically prior to Italian colonists, there was no country called Eritrea or Eritrean people, Eritrea is a creation of the Italian colonial empire, I hate to say this but I think Tigrinya people will be chased out of Massawa and the whole Tigre/Afar land very soon and their fate would be no different than that of other miserable Abyssinians, just look what happened to Amhara, they are completely cut off from the outside world, they have no control over trade routes and no power.
