That is an excellent move by Ethiopia but there is one point that has to be cleared : Turkey had an agreement with Al-Bashir to revive Sawakin and have some kind of military installation there. This was received with fierce opposition from countries like Saudi Arabia,Egypt and UAE. Now, there are rumours indicating that the new Sudanese government ,despite its closeness to the three countries, has a plan to allow the Turks to complete their original plan.

Abe: That's what makes it interesting, BTW Before Albashir government collapsed he also begged russia and turkey 2 save him from usa and israel and gulf arab countries. So now usa and israel don't want russian 2 build base in port-sudan that's why they put sudan out of terrorist state list and they forced sudan 2 make peace with israel. Do u c where i am going with this, now ethiopia is playing that other game by bringing turkey 2 z fold it's fighting russia and gulf countries and of course sudan and egypt specifically. So it's a chess game bro. The trade deal trade that just got signed off was a work-in-progress that had its initial seeds about 10 years ago and made active during HMD. IT HAS NO MILITARY INTENT!
Birhanu Nega's mouthpiece at ESAT totally distorted it, to cover the cause of all this crisis; which is the theft of the transition and its roadmap by leba Gurage and associates in addis ababa.
Now, can this trade signing develope into a military pact? Hmmm...i have my doubts. desperate G7 backed Make Amhara Great Again mental illness can try!

According to the ethiopian news coverage today (ETV), turkey and ethiopia signed a trade deal of 1 BILLION US dollars between the 2 countries.
As an eritrean, i anticipate to read similar news reported by charlie in eritrea.

Trade is a good beginning. It can usher in a new era of military cooperation. Although Turkey and Egypt are having some low level intelligence collaboration yet their are still rivals. This can work in favour of Ethiopia. kerrenite...1 billion is 1 major construction project (rail) plus activities in SME. It really isnt much! As I said, most of the ground work happened during HMDs optimistic era, way before the amhara gurage mad house went loose. I doubt if much of it will happen.
ABE...hmmm! I guess all things are possible! I havent seen the actual document. I know HMDs focus was on other things than arms, predominantly rail for west south portions of ethiopia. Trade could mean trade in arms too but there is nothing that insinuates that in the news. You would think some form of military presence during the signing.
