Trump has been putting pressure on Saudi Arabia and other Arab Gulf countries to mend their relationship with Qatar. Bahrain was reluctant due to some territorial and political problems with Qatar. Egypt has been talking to Qatar covertly. There is a shortage of " ruz " ( ሩዝ ) in Egypt. The Egyptians believe that they could extort more money ( they have been caught on the phone ...ዓባስ ካሚል and others telling each other " ነዚኣቶም ሃቡ እንዳ በልካ ምምልጣጥ ጥራሕ እዩ ዘሎ ። ሰልዲ ከም ሩዝ እኳ እዩ ዘለዎም " ) from UAE and Saudi Arabia by opening lines with Qatar and Turkey ( they never cut economic ties with ኤርደዋን, intelligence co-operation still at its inception ) . The recent visit of M.B.Z to Cairo was to discuss the Qatar issue from the Egyptian viewpoint and the pressure put on the Gulf countries from Trump. Trump wants to end the stand-off before the end of his term. I do not know whether his desire has anything to do with Israel and the possible confrontation with Iran . As you know the Americans have moved their aircraft carrier from the Gulf and have sent bombers to the area.

According to a Tunisian professor in Geneva now that peace has been restored between Qatar and countries like Saudi Arabia Al-jazeera will be busy deleting contents dealing with those countries from its archives. Similar things have been done in the past.
A Kuwaiti guest confronted Al-jazeera with the issue and put his host to shame who replied with "We are not part of the ministry of foreign affairs...... ". Yes,they are everywhere. The same Tunisian professor said that Israel and Trump are waiting for a flimsy excuse from Iran to star a war and leave a big mess for Biden to prevent him from working for a peaceful settlement of the " nuclear " issue. If the Iranians were to produce their own nuclear weapon or procure it ready-made from North Korea who do you think should be blamed for it deservedly ? The West entered Iraq, hanged the president on id day and filled the country with depleted uranium. In that case wouldn't the guy next door get scared and work to find ways to protect himself ? I am not saying Iran is good or bad.
