The ENDF chief of staff General Berihanu Julla started his career as an Airborne soldier under the Dergu regime. He was captured by Eritrean warriors and given to TPLF fighters. TPLF trained and promoted him from infantry soldier to a general. According to this clip, the general's loyalty is said to be to his ethnic kin than to his country. The fruits of identity politics:

Asralleqa Birhanu Jula was captured in Tigray and by TPLF, But t Bacha Debelie was captured in Ar'tera but by TPLF, which took him POW while it was fighting in ar'tera to help wedimedhin. Bacha debelie, while being held as POW in wedimedhin camp, served like a slave, as farm and road worker. But he was lucky, when going back to Tigray, TPLF got Bacha released from captivity in Sahel and took him from A'[deleted] to Tigray. The rest is history not worth remembering.

I have more respect to General Bacha Debele. He fought against discriminations based on ethnic identity while he was part of the TPLF controlled ENDF and paid for it dearly. However, I can't say same about the current Chief of staff, who was promoted to the highest level possible by TPLF. He is now openly demonizing his former boss as if they were not the ones who gave him the ladder to get to where he is at. Perhaps what most people say about TPLF's selection of the narrow minded and dumb ethnic extremists from the ranks for promotion is true. Anyways, it is the system not the individuals that creates such an environment of treachery and betrayal.
