I had a Covid scare over the past couple of days. after being a bit too lax and venturing out to relax, my body suddenly felt like it was hit with a nuclear bomb. I did not have the symptoms I expected from Covid-19; no fever, no chills and no loss of smell. What I experienced were instead unending thirst, exhaustion and the need to go to the bathroom frequently.

I talked to my sister Mariam and the first thing she mentioned was to go get a diabetes test kit from CVS in order to get an idea of where my glucose levels were at. This put the fear of God in my heart, my father had diabetes and I’ve was pre-diabetes as recently as August of this year until I got serious and lost 50 pounds by working out regularly and severely restricting my intake of simple sugars and carbohydrates.

Unfortunately, all the efforts I expended over the past 5 months losing weight and getting in shape came to a screeching halt about a week ago as I stopped focusing on my health and started to worry about everyone else’s wellbeing. My god complex kicked in and I wanted to save humanity even if that meant sacrificing my own organs. It took a brush with diabetes for rational thought to kick in....continued..

Well,

you can " save humanity" or claim to "save humanity" but that is not in line with fear-mongering, i am afraid.

I heard on the news about the strain you are talking about and part of the presser held by the PM of UK himself on the issue on BBC. What they said about the new strain is not that it is more deadly, rather more contiguous, as much as 70% more than the other strain.

So, even if my english is not as good as yours, more contiguous doesn't necessarily also mean more deadly and people close to the issue said explicitly that it is not more deadly.
