In fact, to be fair Debretsion is willing to give up even his temporary “ mayor of Mekele” job. But he does not trust the Abiy administration. He just said so. If I give up, they will beat me up, and then kill me, so I cannot. But that is what he thinks, not what is going to happen.
The 72 hours is counting down. It is time for the mayor of Mekele to give it up.

Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael will be the chairman of Ethiopia's Council for Peace and Reconciliation. He will head the new administration which is being formed as we speak. Abiy Ahmed Ali migh flee to UAE. His cabinet members will be brought to justice.
There will be elections in 1- 2 years, where all political groups will participate except those collaborating with Eritrea.
Ethiopia will remain a federated country with loose association of it's regional state where each regional state has more autonomy regarding their finances and security.
