Ethiopia's most experienced troops, the northern command, have arrived 30 miles outside Mekelle. They are preparing for the final blow on the city on Wednesday, when the 72 hour deadline expires. ENDF has the city surrounded 30 miles out. Ethiopia's strategy will be to lure TPLF forces to fight outside the city, but TPLF's strategy will be to use the citizens of Mekelle as human shields and turn the lost war into a bloody urban warfare.
