Bahir Dar was founded by Saint Yared of Aksum. It was called Bete Giorgis. There used to live many Tigrayans who later intermixed with the population who migrated from South Ethiopia following the great migration of the Galla to North Ethiopia. The majority living in Bahir Dar and Gojamme are immigrants from West and Southern Africa. The so-called Amhara or Amara as they call themselves are West Africans. You can tell this from the way they dress and dance. There is nothing wrong being from West or Southern Africa. This is only mentioning a fact.

In the villages outside, people speak Tigrigna and Amharic. This shows the villages are Tigrayan and need to be under Tigray administration because only Tigray has the capacity to promote ancient Ethiopia's culture. Keeping the area under Amhara is wrong. Bahir Dar and Surroundings should be under Aksum and Tigray.
