እኔ ከዚህ መደምደሚያ ደረስሁ - ታሪክ እና ዝና እንዳንድ ጊዜ ሰው የሚሰራው በአጋጣሚዎች በመታደል እንጅ የመርሆ ፅናት ላይሆን ይችላል። ከመርሆ አንፃር ሁለቱን ሰዎች ካየን ወደ ነፈሰበት የሚወድቁ ዛፎች ናቸው።

የትምህርት ማረጋገጫ የሚሰጡት የትምህርት ተቋማት እንጂ ፓርላማ አይደለም፤ አራት ነጥብ። የትምህርት ተቋማቱ እስካረጋገጡ ድረስ፤ ወደ ላይ ቢወጣ ወደ ታች፤ ጠንካራ መሰረት ላይ ያለ እውነት ነው። Abebe Gellaw did a great job of establishing facts and confirmation from universities and colleges. Unless someone comes with denial of the universities and collages, it is hard to come against the evidence Abebe established except one wants to look a fool. Bring something from the higher institutions otherwise no amount of crying will shake the evidence Abebe provided.

በተጨማሪ አበበ ገላው የመሰከረው ከበቂ በላይ የትምህርት ማስረጃ ሲደረብ፣ ከኢትዮጵያ ብቻ ሳይሆን ከዐለም በብቃት የሚወዳደሩት ጥቂት ሰዎች ይሆናሉ፣

ፕሮፌሰር መሥፍን ወ/ማ ብለውት እንደነበረ የዐብይ አይነት አጠቃላይ ብቃት ያለው ፈረንጅም ሌላም አይተው አያውቁም፤

ከሳቸው በላይ የሰውን ልክ የሚያውቅ ላሳር ነው፣ አትድከሙ።

Why did not Addis Ababa University subscribe Turn-it-in so that originality of some PhD and Masters thesis of students could be verified? I think this tells how much the quality of Ethiopian higher education is flushed down the toilet - from entry/admission through the graduation process. This should not come as a surprise, because all universities including Addis Ababa university ,are run and staffed by political appointees so that the academic credentials of students are political certificates than being virtue of academic merits earned. It is embarrassing for Ato Abebe Gellaw, to trying to put Abiy Ahmed's work in an eye catching package so that people will take it for granted instead of breaking the rosy wrapping paper of the package. In any case, first and foremost, Abiy was not appointed to his current position based on his academic excellence rather was due to his loyalty to the disservice of the interests of sovereign Ethiopia and its citizens. He is just another TPLF in a different wrap.

Brother Wedi,

The subject of the paper was "Conflict Resolution"; he received a PHD by resolving the actual conflict at a location. Didn't he? You can't fake that.

The presentation of the paper, some methodology similarity with another paper is what we're talking about mostly here? No real substance; they are two different "conflicts" resolved; different communities and culture.

The English language, a fifth language for Abiy, is what the paper is expected to be presented with. The substance of the PHD paper however, was resolving a "conflict" on sight. The location where the study was made and the "conflict" resolved, no other professional or foreigner worked. Right? Abiy was the only professional.

We already know that he has the skills acquired to resolve conflicts; case in point, when Dr. Abiy travelled to the middle east, he resolved some Ethiopian community issues live on stage televised! We all saw it; he also helped the reconciliation of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. What does that tell you?

My friend, what you presented here is not the "substance" of the subject matter of the study. The actual real world study is done on the field by the owner of the paper. That counts the most in his abilities of resolving Ethiopia's problems and deserving the PHD.

I am not saying an overseer of his studies shouldn't take points off for the fluffy stuff you pointed out here. That is appropriate. Remember, AA University only gave him "Very good" not "excellent"; so, they took points off here and there.

Bottom line, if you guys want to exercise good for nothings academic intellectual [deleted] here & else where, go ahead, Ethiopians won't care.

Sometime ago, someone posted the entire PDF copy of Abiy's thesis. I think I read certain parts of his work ( probably, the problem statement and the survey methodology). As I did not do a cortical read and analysis, I would not be in a position to categorically say something pro or against. My big problem is with the University and his advisor. Let's begin, what did he mean by traditional conflict resolution ? This is a very glaring inconsistency while the whole body/framework of the study was about conflicts among local Oromo, Amhara, Tigre as the demographic profile of the survey participant's show. This implies the conflict, if any happened, is macro-political issue emanating from the TPLF as such this is neither local nor traditional. I would say this as an exported transient conflict sponsored by TPLF/OLF. The contribution of the study, to me is none, because the problem is hate preaching and ethnic ideology itself. This would have been more useful, let's say to different pastoral communities clashed over grazing land and water point. In this case, these communities have a deep rooted cultural strategy of coping conflicts. Sometimes we here such conflicts which often interpreted ethnic parties as a conflict of entire ethnic groups. The other glaring point is how sloppy both the candidate and the advisor were for not able to even trying to articulate ideas of previous researchers or direct quote and give them credit. That failure , we see from the comparison.
