The Tgray kilil councile is labeled by Ethiopian parliament "illegal" for holding election against the wish of the federal government . Hence it has forfeited its rights to submit for secession under the law it instituted itself. It also has lost federal budget monies for its action.

They never had a real intentions of going for the 39th after realization of how resource rich Ethiopia is. Their best hope was to loot Ethiopia and build their own enclave...especially after they were unceremoniously rejected by Eritrea They dug the hole deeper hoping that Amharas would be buried in it...too unfortunate... they are the ones about to go down in it first with their incurable hate.

Article 39 is an “agreement” made between ethnic politicians. Ethiopians have not signed on it. It is practically impossible to implement it. The ethnic politicians who came to power in 1983 declared they birthed an Ethiopia in which nations, nationalities, and people enjoy equality and freedom. Those same politicians wrote an article which stated any ethnic group unhappy with the new Ethiopia has a right to divorce her in broad daylight. What a contradiction!

The held the "election" to legitimize themselves and then submit for secession with looted land, money and heavy military equipment. They got beat at the game they setup!

The only option left on the table for TPLF is to declare war on Ethiopia. Will it? I don't think so. The proxy war it launched seems to die down without much impact.
