Abiy is becoming Ethiopia's Lee Kwan Yew

In the above thread alzewa laments the fact that Abiy is keeping Lidetu gimatu behind bars, although a court of law had ordered him released.

That is a move right out of Lee's power book. Abiy is like the magician who eats his cake and gets to keep it too. He is playing power politics at the highest level, but gets to keep his saintly image intact.

That is how a saint would do if he were sent by God to rule Ethiopia, he gets to remain a saint without doing saintly things.

That is pure magic, the teflon kid, no dirt sticks on him.

It would be nice if our Prime Minister Abiy can cultivate the key values and principles espoused by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew that turned Singapore from a third world fishing village into a first world oasis of prosperity. It can be done. We're already seeing a sign of that not too far from our borders to the north.

The interesting thing about Abiy is that his image is not tarnished by his deeds, that is extremely good quality in a leader, it means the people trust him to do what needs to be done to navigate the rough waters

Abiy is credited for his maturity in understanding that all roads to peace in East Africa run through Asmara. He even received the Nobel Peace Prize award for his wisdom knowing that working with Eritrea for peace and stability are preconditions for prosperity.

Compare that to the agame who cannot exist in a peaceful environment that they sow injustice and reap calamity. In fact, they're currently lobbying Egypt to sponsor their smear campaign to tarnish the images of both Abiy and Isaias. :P

Justina
The former lover of wedi medhin berad, the late midget meles zenawi used to play tricks to circumvent the rule of law with out staining his hands with crime. Was he also Lee kwan?

Even though i don't have any sympathy for the opportunists [ deleted ] leditu or as kehdetu Ethiopians refer him, once you break the law or circumvent it, soon or later, it will chew your arse and the country becomes Eritrea on which you are allowed to breath air under the mercy of a person who is of blood and flesh ala Eritrea.
