That is a move right out of Lee's power book. Abiy is like the magician who eats his cake and gets to keep it too. He is playing power politics at the highest level, but gets to keep his saintly image intact.

That is how a saint would do if he were sent by God to rule Ethiopia, he gets to remain a saint without doing saintly things.

The interesting thing about Abiy is that his image is not tarnished by his deeds, that is extremely good quality in a leader, it means the people trust him to do what needs to be done to navigate the rough waters

Abiy is credited for his maturity in understanding that all roads to peace in East Africa run through Asmara. He even received the Nobel Peace Prize award for his wisdom knowing that working with Eritrea for peace and stability are preconditions for prosperity.

Compare that to the agame who cannot exist in a peaceful environment that they sow injustice and reap calamity. In fact, they're currently lobbying Egypt to sponsor their smear campaign to tarnish the images of both Abiy and Isaias.
