Al-Burhan receives Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki

Informed sources revealed, on Sunday, that the head of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, will arrive in the Eritrean capital, Asmara, on Monday, on an official visit.

The sources indicated to Al-Ain Al-Akhbariya that Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki will receive the proof, adding that the latter will discuss with Afewerki during the visit, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them.

Last August, Al-Burhan received a written message from Afewerki, related to strengthening bilateral relations, in all its political, economic, social and cultural aspects.

Al-Burhan recently visited Eritrea and agreed with Afewerki to open the borders between them and facilitate the natural movement of citizens, after it was closed by the regime of ousted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir for a year and a half.
