No need to single out Tigray for such mindset, as it's intrinsic in the whole continent of Africa! The African continent has been begging for so long that its leaders and intellectuals are convinced that Africa cannot exploit her own resources for her own ends, and it has to farm it out to others; at the present time, being the Chinese.

Make no mistake It's not only in Tigray where people seem to be comfortable with handouts! The whole continent has no problem in accepting aid even from its co-residents of the misery avenue of the global village, including India! Africa had to even beg the Chinese to build a new headquarters for the AU, and guess who is paying for its running costs - Brussels!

Tigray is no exception; thus, give it a break! Just a thought!

I stopped by at a gas station on my way to work and there was this agame beggar standing outside the store with a sign and he asked me for some cash. I told him I don't give out cash, but if he needs some food I can buy it for him, and he said just to get him some water. So I bought him a 12 pack of bottled water and a large pizza. When I gave it to him, he said "thanks Wesf'aatam!"
