- Isaias has been recruiting soldiers recruiting fighters/soldiers by force they call it "Gifa"
- Similarly Dereg used to recruit soldiers by force and qouta
- I am sure Abiy also will resort to forced requirement down the line
TPLF uses consensus based dialogue and promotional activities to win the soul and heart of most the Tigrayan people and people volunteer to be recruited as fighters or soldiers.Hence, any body who tries to attack Tigray will not face only the fighters of Tigray but all of the Tigrayan people. That is why Tigray defeated Derg and will defeat any power that tries to invade it.

Tplf was able to mobilize its base against the nazi dergu. It started there and ended there. It never have been able to mobilize Ethiopians because of its so short sighted and self destructing politics. Now it is back ti square one once again mibilizing its worn out basis. This time around though, the mobilization is nothing more than to comfort eachother.

Even the mobilization against Derg is greatly exaggerated. Before the famine hit around 1985, Tigreans did not show “ love” to TPLF. The number of its fighters were insignificant. The famine changed everything. Denied access to Tigray by TPLF to international donors, if the aid was distributed using the Derg infrastructure, the aid donors had no choice except to give the food aid to TPLF. In Khartoum, Sudan many buildings were rented for storage.
Well, the government within the government was born. The food distributor TPLF finally got the “love” of Tigreans. That is the fact. Now, to mobilize what incentive does TPLF have ? Nobody spells an answer for that.
