My Preference, rezone it by weredas, for instance Adi Quala, Mendefera, Senafe, Dubarwa, Adi Qeyih, Dekemhare, and Adi Tekelezan would serve as capitals of their own vicinity. That would kill regionalism for good.

The best way to kill regionalism is to institute a genuine democratic government in place. When people get to choose their own leaders, and the sense of fairness pervades, regionalism will disappear overnight. When people are engaged in expanding their trades and businesses, they will cease to engage in stupidity. It is all about the sense of fairness. Age does not matter. A child born tomorrow will engage in regionalism if the system is not changed. I am hollier than thou won't cut it. BTW, in general, Asmarinos, regardless of where they originate, tend to be less regionalists than the terrible single villagers.

Racism and biggotism are different from regionalism. Eritreans live in a very secretive culture. EPLF and its culture were way behind in dealing with regionalism. Regionalism is not new. As you mentioned above, we need to be open to each other. Regionalists try to take the higher moral ground in hiding their identiy. For me, that is every sign of disrespect. If you ask me who I am, I will very openly tell you who I am. If you respond in kind, I would have nothing but respect for you. Now, regionalism is getting worse. Some Eritreans feel that the system favors a particular group over theirs. If the government is dominated by some particular group, then naturally, regionalism would intensify. The president himself once said, his detractors come from a single part of region : Now, if you belong to that region, your blood would boil for sure. It is the feeling of unfairness that aggrandizes political regionalism. Social regionalism is everywhere. People like to intermarry with what they feel are their own kind. I don't have a problem with that. If the girl loves me too bad. But, what democracy provides is equality. That lessens if not eradicates regionalism.

about a year or a two years ago at most, In his speech, he did say that. But, he did not name that particular region though . Most peiople understood it to be Akele Guzay. Justice-seeker here was protesting about it. Wedi Taba in one of his toxic videos added to the fuel. I am not privy to anything. But, I will try to provide the evidence for you.
