What is the next move for Egypt?

Thanks to the concerted effort of the Ethiopian government and the Ethiopian people, Egypts pressure on the Ethiopian government to sign a zero-sum agreement prior to the initial filling of the dam has been foiled. Egypt will further intensify its efforts to destabilize , divide and weaken Ethiopia, prior to the subsequent phases of the GERD project, by exploiting current internal problems such as TPLF and PP rivalries and problems in Oromia, ethnic and religious rivalries etc. Egypt will also continue to put economic pressure on the Ethiopian government using its international strategic partners such as Arabs, USA, IMF, World Bank and some European countries. It could also initiate single or multiple proxy wars using our immediate neighbors such as Eritrea, Sudan, South Sudan and Somalia. Un-demarcated borders could be easily manipulated and used as an excuse to initiate proxy war. Further more Egypt will continue try to penetrate the Ethiopian government and try to make it its puppet, directly or indirectly specially through Arab countries camouflaged as foreign investors that will corrupt our officials and control them.
Therefore it is recommended that:
- The PM Abiy government has to involve all internal key stakeholders and create a national consensus, a shared vision on the political way forward
and accommodating and addressing key stakeholders concerns and issues
- Further strengthening its relationship with our immediate neighbors and addressing border demarcation related issues timely.
- Terminating its unprincipled and unholy alliance with the Eritrean government and replacing it with transparent bilateral agreement.
- Deny the Eritrean and the Egyptian governments the access and the ground to get involved into the internal affairs of the country
- The PM Abiy government has to enhance its intelligence system to protect external forces penetrating and corrupting the government structure.
God Bless Ethiopia!
