Government alarmed by the sheer number of factories relocating to Amhara region from Oromia

A friend who works at the investment office told me that the government was alarmed by sheer number of factories and companies relocating to Amhara region from Oromia. The government now issued a new directive that prevents any company from relocation. A factory is no more allowed to remove its asset and factory from Oromia and plant it in Amhara region. Factory owners are now trying to use other methods like closing the factory in Oromia and opening a new factory with a new name and new owner in Amhara region. He said every investor is trying to relocate and leave the Oromia region but the government is doing everything to prevent that. He said, currently the likes of Debre Berhan are out of investment land because of high demand.

Oromo politicians and Activists should educate their people how investments in their region is a lifeline to them and to their children. They must teach them looting and burning investments would harm the well being of Oromos than anybody else. What we see in Oromia region so far is horrific.

No person with sane mind will dare to put his money in regions of Oromia in the future. I personally do not invest my dime in Oromia. Why would I lose sleep after I invested my hard-earned money in the area where I am considered an enemy.

If there are smart Kellel authorities left out there should be quick now to take advantage of the situation in attracting investments to be diverted into their region. And Oromos must see and learn what they did was wrong when others how benefited from what they have discarded.

Why would Abiy prohibits business men moving their assets to places where they are welcomed and feel secured. Let's face it the so called
Oromia is where it is today due to business acumen of Gurage , Amharas and others. Oromos are not particularly good in business.

This is a natural procese. Nobody invests his/her hard earned money to get it burned. The essense of development and identity politics are now [deleted] eachother up.

In all of these the Amhara Region is the best choice to invest and prosper. However, I have my doubts about the leadership of that Region in grasping the whole meaning of what is going on in the country. The Region is endowed with all kinds of resources and, above all hard working population with Ethiopianity at its core. This is something lacking almost everywhere else in the country. The Region is only 13km away from Addis for now...and close to all exporting routs. Do they have the leadership to change those natural opportunities to reality? That is something to ponder on.

It seems you forgot the Amhara region is surrounded by ethnic Oromos like most Ethiopian regions do.

If all investments will have been diverted to Amhara region in the near future and Oromia dried up, do you think Qeeroos let you take your production in and out through Oromia in peace particularly when you are on need to get accessing sea outlet. The only corridor you have is to head north to Gonder via Matema and then to Port Sudan, otherwise thinking alternate root it needs a federal army convoy to escort your merchandise.

Forget sea access, You cannot even sell something you produced in DebreBerhan factory by delivering to Awash Arba Or Hawasa market without you crossing Oromo land. Ethiopian ethnic homeland and people are interconnected in every dimension and inseparable. That is why bringing political stability at any cost for that country is a must, or let everyone go to its separate way and make treaties through its department of Foreign Ministry.

That is the right thing to do. I have talked with some of my former friends who are living in that region. They told me that they are relocating all their investments to a safer and peaceful regions.

What Benefit does Hawasa or Awash or Oromia have for Amhara Imports and Exports. Also Bati Kalu, Ataye and next Khemise are all Amharas. So yes Amhara can cross into afar without going through other lands. Mersa and Woldia share no border with Galalu.

the only leverage galalu has is TPLFs Border which illegally gave them N. Shewa which is Amhara majority. The town of Fiche aka Debre Libanos is 90 percent Amhara. The highway between Addis and Bahir Dar/ Debre Berhan should be brought under Amhara or Ethiopian Jurisdiction Military Force to extract any forces of Gallalu Agressors. Securing the Amhara Roads to Addis as well as making sure all non Oromos are protected is a must

Amhara isn’t surrounded by Oromos that is a provocative statement the Abay River secures gojam from the O people.

The only thing that I share with you from your post is the interconnection of Ethiopians.Yes we all will benefit from unity and working together. The rest is just full of garbage. You may want to go back and brush up your knowledge of Ethiopian Regional Geigraphy. The only region that stands between Amhara Region and the ports is the Afar Region which used to be part of Wello..Midre -gegn.

I am not cheering for investment to dry out from Oromiya...but trying to be practical. Investment isnt a charity. Even charity wont continue to operate if every time its efforts are burned to the ground. I am rather urging the Oromia and the Opdo governments to weed out the renegades before it is too late. Otherwise the region is fast becoming notoriously ground zero for investemnt

If hating on Amehara were a greater input for development,Tigrai and Oromiya would have been 1st world coutries by now. All the enormous hate the politics of identity spewed in the country only produced an intense push back in kind. That now brought all of us to the brink of armagedeon. Some sections of the society can't and wont be at the receiving end of the unprovocked savagery all the time. That will end at some point and reciprocity could well be in order

There are only few confused indeviduals who are misguieded by the hate politics promoted by TPLF for over three decades. They are the ones destroying their own livelthood. They need to be checked or else the majority will pay the price for its silence.
