From 1531 to 1700, The Galla or Oromo were waging wars of expansion in Ethiopia and have manged to drive Amhara and other tribes from Bale, Wollega and parts of Shoa. The Oromo or Galla Bantu warriors castrated men and took away women and children. They burned houses and churches just in the same manner as did The Adal muslims with help of Ottoman Turks, which were killing Christians and destroying churches.

The Oromos or Gallas are planning to pay compensation about Eth Birr 10000 to all families whose husbands or sons were castrated during the war. Further details to be announced.

We do not know how to react to the above plan as it will be difficult to get the name of the Amhara men who were castrated.

Reportedly 20000 Amhara families have been listed for compensation.
