I really don’t think PIA would go to war with TPLF on his own accord. But he might end up in it, because TPLF and Abiy are about to go to war. Their differences have reached a point where only war is a solution. You can not make them work together anymore. For one to exist the other has to cease to exist.
In this war, if TPLF wins, Eritrea is a done deal and is finished. If Abiy wins, that would herald the return of Ethiopian empire, and anyways Eritrea is finished.
Both outcomes are better than what we are experiencing now. Some power has to save Eritrea from itself. Eritrea and Eritreans are incapable of forming free society.
The coming war is the end of Eritrea as a fully independent country. It will end up a vassal state of either Tigray or Ethiopia. They might allow her some degree of suzerainty, but that is as far as it goes.
