The existing government of Ethiopia came to power by riding mainly the wave of the riots in Oromia. However once they came to power they sidelined the demand of the Oromo people and tried to divide and weaken Qerro. Now they have started to kill Qerro and also arrested the Icons of the Oromo struggle and it looks they are going to continue to do so! The following were the demand of the Oromo people during EPRDF!
- Justice specially to the farmers loosing their land with out proper compensation
- Addis Ababa to be part of Oromia and benefit to Oromia
- Deepen the Federal System and make Oromia more autonomous and freely self governing
- Fare economic system
- Democracy for the people
- Eliminate corruption and remove corrupted EPRDF officials
The above demands are also similar to other Ethiopians have been demanding !
None of the above demands of the Oromo people have been addressed by PP and to the contrary PP is trying to destroy the Federal system, no change on the land issue, economy is worse than before, is becoming dictatorial from day to day, more corruption and more injustice and killing of the Oromo people! I don't understand why PP is doing everything wrong and frustrating the Oromo youth that brought it to power! Does that mean Abiy has sold the sacrifice and struggle of the Oromo people to get power to those who gave him power and has become their puppet and is implementing their agenda at the cost of the demands of the Oromo( the Ethiopian) people?
