ከ 1991-93 በነበረው የኤርትራ ረፈረንዱም ወቅት: ሽንጧን ገትራ የተቃወመችን ሃገር ግብፅ ብቻ ነበረች!!
Why did Egypt oppose Eritrean independence but supported -to some extent- pre independence war? Because Egypt would like to see continuous war b/n Ethiopia & Eritrean & Civil war between Ethiopian various forces, so Ethiopia doesn't have the economic capacity to build dams on Abay!
IMO, If Ethiopia completed the dam then the episode is over and egypt's interference in Eritrean and Ethiopian affairs will be greatly reduced. Egypt will focus on THE Redsea and gulf of Aden to prevent the domination of Turkey, Qatar and others in the area...

Mubarak visited Eritrea on May 25, 1993. In an unfortunate concidence,
Boutros G became UNSG in 1992
