Science offers lots of explanations about how the world got to be the way it is without requiring gods as part of the theories. These logical explanations are backed up by carefully recorded observations and experiments that can be performed over and over, always yielding the same result. But with religion, things are often set in stone. Holy men and holy books tell you what must be done and there can be no debate or questioning, for that would be sinful
