Raya is Tigrayan. Even though, the Adwa and Agame do not accept Raya as Tigrayan because the Rayans speak a dialect of Tigrigna which is similar to Geez and not Tigrigna from Agame or Adwa. No Rayan speaks Amharic or wants to speak Amharic. There are some Amhara settlers in Korem, Maychew and Alamata.
