When will the UN, sanction the US?

Zmeselo,

Eritreans do not even have the right to vote much less demonstrate. Prisoners are behind bars for years without justice. Eritreans are timid for a good reason. Americans are free and off course they dare the police. In America bad cops will always lose. In Eritrea, the cops are Gods. Your comparison is not good. Take side with your own people if you are Eritrean in the first place.

Maybe you were living under a rock, but it's precisely the lack of freedom that's making them go out & demonstrate. And, what do they get for this supposed freedom they have? Get run over by police cars, get peppar sprayed, beaten up, arrested etc.

My message with this post, besides that, is the fact that the US alone decided to unjustifiably sanctions my country; under the cover of some African nations & the UN.

Zmeselo,

The individual police who committed the crime should face minimum life in prison. He intentionally killed him. However, he also deserves his day in court. In Eritrea, a fourteen year old who should be polishing her nails is rotting in jail without a day in court. What did our brothers and sisters die for . For this ? You should be fighting for her than lecturing how a fully democratic country conducts itself. The price of freedom is very expensive. Because of the rioting, many innocent business owners are also losing their properties. Who is to blame ? in part the law makers. You can not let the police the license to kill without full consequences of stiff penalty. The sanction has nothing to do with it, and you know it. Actually, with the right diplomatic maneuvers Eritrea could have avoided the sanction all together. History will tell. The point is though, every thing our brothers and sisters died for has been set aside so that one group of people can rule without oversight for eternity. You are supporting that system against the interest of the Eritrean people. I don't know what motivates you to do that, but if you are an independent patriotic Eritrean, it is good to encourage the government when it does right and criticize it when it does wrong.

For me, the formula is simple.

Work until threats from outside are reduced to zero, as a first priority. Then, if possible, seek even restitution but that's almost a fantasy.

Secondly, I never lose sight of the fact that some of our territories are still not handed over to us by the reculcitrant but mortally wounded weyane. By extention, I believe the stability of Ethiopia is very important to us before adventuring to other issues.

Thirdly, I haven't yet seen any credible and above all patriotic opposition force as of yet. They all had previously sold their souls to the weyane or other more nefarious forces; hence their credibility is below zero and not only to me but to the majority of Eritreans. Inside & outside, the country!

You hit me with subjects you perfectly know I can't do anything about, as the issue of prisoners as a form of emotional blackmail.

It doesn't work with me.

Quindibu,

That is Inconceivable. It goes to show you how low human beings can sink. Human beings are brutish animals of the worst kind. If there is heaven, I know the little boy is hanging around there, and he had already, forgiven his tormentors. Eritrea does not have that kind of history. Why is a 14 year old Eritrean girl behind bars for the last 8 to 9 years possibly in horrendous conditions. This girl is ruined in front of our eyes for doing what ? Question is, what did our brothers and sisters die for. They died for her and the likes of her so that she and all other Eritrean girls could be free. This is the 21st century. 29 years later, I would bet that Eritrea was going to be as advanced as the Nether-land. Boy, I was wrong. I am sure, some day it will be no matter when in the future.

Man, stfu!
Where do they find dumb unsophisticated people like you?

You've been stuck in the 50s, the heydays of the US. Or the 80s, its last hurrah when it seemed to be winning the war of ideas.
Move on old man, the world has changed,
US is not anymore the beautiful, as you and your heavy metal pals use to sing in the 60s. Today it is more ugly than beautiful, and not a role model for any society. Today Clinton calls your heavy metal country arsss pals the deplorable
You cannot of course raise your IQ, but try to act less dumb.
