TPLF is not spying for Egypt. This is a piece of information that any political group can give.
It is Eritrea and Eritreans who are spying Ethiopia for Egypt. TPLF sees Egypt as it's historical enemy. Egypt assassinated Meles Zenawi, head of TPLF.
